Over the course of two inspiring days, the Space Education Summit 2026 brought together students, educators, researchers, industry leaders and space enthusiasts to discuss one of the most important pillars of the future space sector: education.

Held as part of the NEW SPACE PORTUGAL initiative, this edition achieved its aim of bringing together key stakeholders on a single platform, with a view to promoting collaboration and strengthening the space education ecosystem in Portugal.
Hosted at Nova School of Business and Economics, the Summit featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, technical presentations, educational sessions, and networking opportunities. Participants explored topics ranging from space sustainability and Earth observation to entrepreneurship, policy, and the role of education in shaping the future of the space sector.

The Summit also benefited from strong international participation, featuring distinguished speakers such as Claude Nicollier, Switzerland’s first astronaut, and Akhil Rao, former NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Chief Economist, among others. These contributions enriched discussions and reinforced the importance of international collaboration in building a resilient and innovative space ecosystem.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all speakers, partners, exhibitors, volunteers, and participants who contributed to making this second edition such a success. Your expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment helped create an event that celebrated the achievements of today while helping shape the future of space education.
