The Atlantic Constellation – flagship project of the New Space Portugal Agenda – was highlighted at the latest edition of Terra em Foco, through CEiiA’s participation in the event held in Coimbra on March 17–18.
The presentation showcased how CEiiA and GEOSAT (the company leading this Agenda) are helping shape the future of the space downstream sector, leveraging the Atlantic Constellation and the AtlanticDataHub as key pillars for a new data-driven economy.
As part of the work carried out under WP4, titled Digital Planet, CEiiA presented operational solutions already translating space data into real-world impact through AI: from LULC and change detection to tree detection, biomass estimation, and solar site optimization.
The Atlantic Constellation is more than infrastructure. It is the foundation of an integrated ecosystem connecting space to society, enabling smarter, more sustainable decisions at scale.
“A importância do Espaço” foi tema em destaque no programa Sociedade Civil, da RTP2, que contou com a participação de quatro organizações que integram a Agenda New Space Portugal: GEOSAT, CEiiA, Omnidea e N3O.
Durante a conversa, discutiu-se o desenvolvimento que o setor espacial português está a viver e a capacidade de atrair e reter talento para os projetos inovadores em curso. Projetos que, ao longo da próxima década, ambicionam posicionar o País como uma nação espacial, promovendo a tecnologia desenvolvida em Portugal nos mercados globais de Sustentabilidade, Segurança e Defesa.
Também se abordou a necessidade de mecanismos de investimento eficazes que permitam ao País consolidar uma ‘economia do novo espaço’, reforçando a importância desta aposta num setor tão estratégico como o setor espacial, atualmente em aceleradíssimo crescimento a nível mundial.
