New Space Portugal presents results at the 3rd Mobilising Agendas Meeting

36 new products, developed by a consortium of 41 partners, demonstrating Portugal's ability to design, develop, industrialise and export space technology.

This was the starting point for the presentation of the results achieved by the NEW SPACE PORTUGAL Agenda, led by GEOSAT, at the 3rd Mobilising Agendas Meeting, held on 25 June at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira. The event showcased how ambition and investment have, in just three years, been transformed into a fully integrated space value chain — from Space Access and satellite integration to constellation operations and the exploitation of space data in applications delivering tangible benefits for the economy, society and sustainability.

At the event, organised by IAPMEI and the Recover Portugal Mission Structure, one of the Agenda's main highlights was the Atlantic Constellation, the largest space project in Portugal's history. Led by the Portuguese Air Force and CEiiA – Centre of Engineering and Product Development, in partnership with CTI Aeroespacial, GEOSAT and N3O, the project is establishing a new European very high-resolution Earth Observation system combining optical and radar technologies.

Alongside this flagship initiative, the Agenda also developed two additional constellations: the Lusíada Constellation, led by LusoSpace and dedicated to maritime communications, and the Open Constellation, focused on high-resolution Earth Observation.

The Agenda has also enabled the creation of new strategic industrial capabilities, including N3O, Portugal's first very high-resolution satellite systems integrator, strengthening an ecosystem that spans the entire space value chain, from Space Access to downstream applications supported by the Atlantic Data Hub.

These achievements reinforce Portugal's position within the new space economy and demonstrate that it is possible, in just a few years, to build industrial and technological capabilities of European significance.
