As part of the New Space Portugal programme, Nova SBE – School of Business and Economics hosted two research seminars featuring the presentation of four case studies developed by fellows in collaboration with key stakeholders in the space sector.
The seminars aimed to disseminate the final outcomes of these research projects and to encourage academic discussion on the practical application of knowledge generated within the EU Next Generation funds framework, fostering stronger links between research, innovation, and industry.
In June, the case study presentations were: “HAPS as a Game-Changer in the Space Industry” (Selina Schmidbauer in partnership with Omnidea), and “Space Governance in Peripheral European Nations: A Comparison between Portugal and Luxembourg” (Rafaela Palácio).
The second seminar took place today, featuring two further case study presentations: “Strategic Intrapreneurship in Emerging Industries: Establishing Space Law in Portugal”, by Rafaela Palácio, in collaboration with VdA Vieira de Almeida and “Oceano Fresco: Leveraging New Space Technology for Sustainable Aquaculture”, by Selina Schmidbauer, in collaboration with Oceano Fresco.
Such academic work is vital to strengthening Portugal’s role in the global space sector, ensuring that knowledge, talent, and innovation continue to drive sustainable growth and competitiveness.
